“Detailing” can mean very different work from one provider to another. Use plain condition notes and ask what is actually included.
An interior request can range from a maintenance vacuum and wipe-down to extraction, stain treatment or odour work. Name the surfaces and problem areas instead of assuming every package includes them.
A hand wash removes surface dirt. Decontamination, polishing and protective treatments are additional processes. Ask the provider which stage is appropriate for the finish you want.
A whole-car request works best when the cabin and exterior needs are both described. Photos may help the provider estimate time, but the final scope may still depend on an in-person look.
Ask before you confirm
At a shop, at another fixed location or at the vehicle—do not assume.
Get the actual task list, especially for stains, shampoo, polish or protection.
Vehicle size, condition, add-ons, travel and time can affect the total.
Personal items, child seats or cargo may need to come out before the appointment.
Access, keys, water, power or a weather-safe space can vary by service method.
